It’s that time of the year when all the fashionable people migrant to New York. In other words it’s New York Fashion Week! Here’s a recap of how my #NYFW went. I didn’t take on the whole week, just 5 days but that was more than enough for me! Enjoy!
Day 1
The Look
I decided to dress uber chilled just to get my fashion senses tingling. During fashion week you see a lot going on and it can feel overwhelming so for me personally I slowly creeped into my slayage looks by starting off chilled and comfy. This monochrome look was cute and chic.

The Shows
So on this day, I attended The Nolcha Shows.
The Nolcha Shows are for independent fashion designers to showcase their collections to a global audience of press, retailers, stylists and industry influencers. For more information on The Nolcha Shows and its organization click here.
Check out the designers I saw and a clip from their show. For info about the designers click here.
Day 2
The Look
Day 2 was pretty much me smothered in pink! I’m aware red has been dubbed the “power color” of the season but I am and will always be loyal to pink! I actually thought this outfit out in my head like three days in advance but had no idea it would look so much better put together than in my head. The skirt is an old buy from H&M years ago and the sweater is a current buy from H&M so I guess that explains why the pinks matched perfectly.

The Shows
My first show of the day was Runa Ray SS18 for noon!
Next up was Custo Barcelona! It was a 7 minute walk to that show but it honestly felt like 30 minutes but realistically took me about 15 minutes walking in heels on cobalt stone roads right under the sun in a pretty thick sweater. One of the few fashion week struggles they don’t mention to you!
Fun Fact : Custo Barcelona, was the first ever show I went to at my first ever NYFW years ago when fashion week was at the Lincoln Center and under partnership with Mercedes Benz.
Last show of the day was Macduggal. I’m a pageant girl, a fact about me you should know, so attending Macduggal is always exciting for me. I’m looking at the dresses from the perspective of someone who is going to actually purchase it, a potential client and not just a spectator.
At the Macduggal show I met Halima Aden. If you don’t know who she is, google her! She’s honestly worth taking out the time to do research on. She’s a fellow pageant girl with an amazing story. She’s a strong, beautiful representation of wholeheartedly embracing ones self and staying true to your morals and beliefs. It always refreshing to encounter people like this!
Day 3
The Look
My two favorite things bought this look together, pink and leather! I decided to save this look for my most busy day because this was my favorite look of the week! The dress literally came in the mail 2 days prior to me wearing it. And the jacket has been apart of my wardrobe for over a year now. I ordered the dress from one of these small asian based companies where everything is so inexpensive you get nervous. I decided to take the risk because the dress was only $22 and so dope in the pictures. I’m so happy I took that risk. A lot of people kept asking me how come the leathers match so perfectly? I’m gonna give God all the glory on this one!

The Shows
Leanna marshall – Absolutely beautiful collection! I would wear every piece that came down the runway. The collection was feminine, sexy, soft, and colorful.
I also had the pleasure of meeting this year’s Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere and Miss USA Kara McCullough with their stylist Marquis Bias. #PageantGirls
Vivienne Hu – A collection of muted tones.
Prabal Gurung – A star studded runway show! The collection was sick. Any fashionista would truly appreciate the concept behind each piece. I’m still having day dreams about this oversized yellow sweater that went down the runway!
There were a couple of familiar faces on the runway such as Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Ashley Grahma, just to name a few.
And even more familiar faces sitting in front row. I spotted Elaine Welteroth, Jhene Aiko, Jaime King, Deray Mckesson, Olivia Palmero, Skai Jackson, EJ Johnson, and Julee Wilson to name a few.

Five minutes before the show is starting, I find myself in a deep conversation about the current issues going on in the world with Jaime King. Long story short, Jaime is woke, aware and passionate about helping those in need. Extremely cool chick.
So I completely had a moment with Elaine Welteroth who I absolutely adore for all her accomplishments. I actually heard her speak at the Women of the World Summit earlier in the year and thats when my girl crush for her was formed and I started following her on instagram. She is overall dope AF, a role model and a beautiful presentation of women like myself. Aside from being the Editor in Chief of Teen Vogue, she is also the queen of Boomerangs. So of course, I asked for a boomerang, duh!
Day 4
The Look
I left the house serving candy cane goals! LOL

The shows
My last day was filled of presentations and collaboration launches.
First I attended Maki Oh Spring 2018 Collection Presentation
Secondly I attended the launch of Pharrell Williams latest collection with G-Star Raw.
Third I attended the Emporio Armani Connected smartwatch launch event on 5th ave with Shawn Mendes and Coltrane Curtis.
Oh My Goodness! I’m in love with the day 3 look. I mean, that bluch pink plus those thigh highs are such a combo! Perfect representation at the fashion week!
